Also known as Edana, Therali and Vayana, this large tree is endemic to Western Ghats of India. It can grow up to 15 m tall. 

Medicinal properties

The bark paste mixed with honey is taken internally to cure cough and bronchitis. Leaves are used for the treatment of cardiac disorders, inflammations, diarrhea, hepatopathy and splenopathy.
